HBA-China was registered in the city of Shenyang (pop. 7.0 million) in 2006. It brings together the expertise of HBA UK, in terms of urban and regional planning, heritage management and tourism, with that of Liaoning New Dragon, a local company specialised in architecture, site planning and landscape design. The company’s activities are directed by Michael Brammah(Chairman) and Ma Xinli (Managing Director). HBA-China employs 12 full-time local staff (planners, architects and designers); in addition to part-time staff in related professions when required, and permanent access to the international expertise of HBA UK. The company’s main client base in North East China includes the City of Shenyang, municipalities and counties within Liaoning Province, and private sector corporate clients. The company has also carried out work in several other Chinese provinces. It frequently collaborates with the Shenyang Planning and Design Institute and has established links to highly regarded universities in Beijing, Wuhan, Shenyang, Shanghai and Hefei.
